What are your fitness goals for 2017?
My fitness goals for 2017 are to maintain my current weight through a healthy diet, getting daily cardio and to gain strength by building and toning muscle.
What is your weekly workout routine?
An early morning workout seems to work best for me. I am at the gym at least 6 days a week. While I lost most of my weight by focusing strictly on cardio, in the past few months I have been incorporating strength training into my daily routine as well. A balance between both cardio and lifting weights has made my time at the gym even more productive and enjoyable.
What keeps you motivated?
While a number of things have kept me motivated including the support of my husband, Fitbit challenges, my friends on MyFitnessPal, ultimately my biggest motivator is myself. Once I adopted a “no excuse” and “I am in control of my lifestyle” attitude, I began to see results. Those results definitely motivate me to keep going.
Do you have a success story to share?
I reached my weight goal earlier this year and continue to get stronger every day. My overall health has improved and I am a much more positive and confident person than I was when I was 50 pounds heavier.
