HaysMed Supports Heart Health Awareness Throughout February
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, but the good news is that it’s largely preventable through awareness and lifestyle changes. Throughout American Heart Month in February, HaysMed invites you to join us in raising awareness about women’s heart health and taking proactive steps to prevent heart disease.
Why Focus on Heart Health?
Women often experience heart disease differently than men, with symptoms that can be subtle or overlooked. February, as Heart Health Month, provides an opportunity to spread awareness about risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and lifestyle habits. And encourage women to prioritize their health with regular checkups and heart-healthy habits.
What You Can Do:
- Visit HaysMed: Take advantage of our monthly blood screenings, keep up with your annual primary care visits at HaysMed Family Medicine, and experience top-tier heart health care at the DeBakey Heart Institute—all conveniently close to home.
- Support Awareness: Show support and initiate conversations about heart health. Check out HaysMed’s content library for “Heart Health Conversation Starters.”
- Learn and Share: Knowledge is power! Educate yourself and others about the signs and symptoms of heart disease. Check out HaysMed’s content library for another helpful article, “Heart Healthy Basics.“
Let’s take action to make heart health a priority. By working together, we can empower women in our community to lead longer, healthier lives. Join us in February, support heart health awareness, and help us make a difference.
