Women’s Robotic Surgery
For the most advanced surgical technology and expert specialized care for women, choose the hospital chosen by women. As one of very few hospitals in western Kansas offering da Vinci Robotic Surgery, HaysMed presents this state-of-the-art system for an enhanced surgery experience with less downtime needed for post-surgical recovery.
Robotic surgery is a highly advanced form of minimally invasive surgery. At HaysMed Women’s Health, our surgical specialists use da Vinci® Robotic Surgery when appropriate for the following procedures:
- Hysterectomy (removing the uterus)
- Removing ovarian cysts
- Removing pelvic scar tissue
- Tubal ligation
- Pelvic pain evaluation
- Treating endometriosis
When robotic surgery is not an appropriate option, HaysMed surgeons are trained and experienced in performing laparoscopic surgery, as well as open surgery.
How da Vinci® Robotic Surgery Works
Using 3D optics and a high-tech control module, surgeons move miniaturized operating instruments that allow for extremely precise movements.
Advantages for Patients
Because robotic surgery is a minimally invasive form of surgery, it can result in many advantages for our patients, including:
- Smaller incisions
- Less blood loss
- Less pain
- Reduced risk of infection
- Shorter hospital stay
- Quicker recovery and return to regular activity
- Less scarring
At HaysMed, we practice Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), an adjuvant to minimally invasive surgery that reduces physical and emotional stress associated with surgery. It decreases the need for pain medications and aids in quicker recovery.
Not all patients are candidates for robotic surgery. To find out if you might be a candidate for this type of minimally invasive surgery, please talk to your doctor or call HaysMed Women’s Health at 785-623-5806 for a consultation.
